Cambridge House is a Visit Britain 4 star rated Guest House situated in the centre of Windermere the heart of the English Lake District, a small, friendly, family owned guest house built in the traditional Lakeland style. Enjoying a village centre location we offer ideal accommodation for your Lake District holiday, We are only a minutes walk from historical Windermere with numerous unique shops, restaurants and pubs, a mere 5 minute walk from the railway and coach station and a pleasant 15/20 minute walk to beautiful Lake Windermere, where you can take one of the many lake cruises. We offer advice on walks in the area, free use of maps, books and magazines all aimed to ensure you stay is as good as it can be. We do not have a car park, there is on road free/safe parking and a pay & display 2 minutes away that is free over night. Gay couples are welcome, we do not accept stag or hen parties- children over 8 years welcome please call for details of our family room - well behaved pets sometimes allowed please enquire. One of the many trip available are to take the Windermere Ferry and after walk to " Hill Top" the home of Beatrix Potter where many of her characters sprang to life, and the location of the file "Miss Potter". The fabulous Orrest Head & School Knott fells are within a 5 minute walk with views and walks that even the hiking novice can enjoy. We are pleased to offer our guests staying two nights or more use of the leisure facilities at The manor Hotel in Bowness about a mile from the guest house, includes a swimming pool and sauna. We were made to feel very welcome by Debbie and it felt like we were 'coming home' each evening. Our room was lovely, the bed huge and v comfortable and the breakfast was SO good.We loved Windermere and the location of Cambridge House was perfect after a day out and about.
